I know, I know...not as pretty as the last post. That's fine--I accept my lot in life. Not everyone can be pretty. Ah, but what is that feature I DO have...hmmm...oh yeah: "Character". I guess that's my self-esteem-boosting way of saying I have facial imperfections that catch the light well (ha!).I'll be honest, I don't have anything really to say. I just figured that since this blog is all about motivating me to take more pictures, I might as well at least post one. I also figured it was about time MY mug actually showed up on here--it's my blog, right?!
I guess I really do like the lighting in this picture (even if the subject isn't the greatest). I took this the same evening as the last picture of Stephanie I posted. It was in one of the "Golden Hours" (just after sunset...guess when the other one is!), but I guess you don't see much golden in this black and white version.
One little tid-bit I could add here, I guess: when taking a portrait of any man/woman/child/creature, it is paramount that you have the eyes in focus. There's tolerance for any other feature being slightly blurred or out of focus, but the perceived quality of a portrait is in the eyes. That's where we, as humans, connect.
