Ernie was due for a good walk yesterday so we decided to oblige. I think he somehow knew he was getting a new leash at the pet store because he had that little extra bounce in his step (it was that or his usual "Snow! Snow!! SNOW!!!" mentality).Thw weather was milder than it had been in a while (around 0 degrees Celsius) and as a result we took a slightly different and longer route than our daily norm. Though a little heavy at times, I was glad I took the camera because towards the end of our walk, the light was slipping into one of those "golden times", just before sunset.
The picture above, however, was taken in the shade. There's a man in our neighborhood who's pretty heavy into the woodworking--he always has some sort of new creation visible on his property. Anyway, this is part of his little shed, complete with handcrafted flower box and "heart windows". I decided to go black and white with this shot because it has strong features and lots of texture. You don't get to see the deep mahogany-colored wood and bright yellow flowers, but you'll live.
There's lots of time for color some other day.
